Hey! I'll try not to write a novel of an answer, but there's a lot to be said in this.
Overall, it's an amazing experience and I would recommend it, but with a lot of caveats. Best part of it: the community that builds around a long term story.

The worst parts are:
You have to keep at it for a long time so it can be repetitive. Second thing, it's a lot of work on things that are not the comic itself. Marketing, sharing on social media, a website to maintain, a discord or forum for people to talk about it, and the list goes on.

The Thief of Tales is almost done and looking back, I've made friends thanks to that comic. I've learned things that have helped me a lot at my day job (as a concept artist).
So again, I would recommend, if you are ready to take on the most time consuming work/hobby I can think of 😄
