I took my husbands name because my father was an abuser and I wanted to get as far away from my birth name as possible. I married a good man who gave me my first real family, it is sacred to me. I am fortunate to have a passport with my married name, but I know not everyone has this luxury. 🗣️💙🔊
Yeah. Me too. My daughters Ok her husbands name too. It sucks. If I’m around I will try to get my four granddaughters to keep their names if they marry.
The saves act will probably pass. It will require people to have a id that matches their birth certificate. For women who have changed their name when getting married, they will need to show the paper trail to change their name. Birth certificate, marriage license (divorce license in some cases)… 😔
guess was ahead .my now ex.. had her keep her name... at time was for me issue of keeping her name/family.. identity.. damn i was ahead of the times.. boom but this nuts.
Agreed. But then next will be that they say women can't vote if they're married. And then after that it'll be something else. We are truly living in a nightmare we're the dumbest people are making all the decisions.
