Having appeared as Batman in the successful Batman vs Superman and Justice League, Ben Affleck was announced as the star, co-writer and director of a new standalone Batman film in 2016. Affleck and DC comics writer Geoff Johns wrote a script, called The Batman.

Reeves and Affleck worked together only briefly as a few weeks later, Warner Bros announced Affleck was leaving the new project entirely. The film was still going ahead though – Reeves was now writing a script with Peter Craig, and planning to cast a new actor to play Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Nicholas Hoult, Armie Hammer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were all reportedly in the running to take on the title role, but Reeves already had somebody in mind. As he was writing the script, he was thinking of Robert Pattinson playing the part.

It's the worst Batman film ever. Everything, from acting, story to the costumes, were awful. For me, the final nail in the coffin was the scene when The Riddler starts singing Eve Marie... So cringe.

Worse than this??
Bale's Batman is the best for me, but Pattinson take was excellent and explored a different side to Batman that's often overlooked in favour of bigger action scenes.

Yeah, at least Arnold made a cool (pun intended) villain in that one. Paul Dano is a brilliant actor, no doubt, but those thrift store clothes? Come on. And don’t even get started on Catwoman, whose mask looked like someone took a pair of scissors to an old ski cap.

Different isn’t always better.
