Am I missing something that this just makes US made gear less attractive for everyone else and punishes US based musicians trying to get hold of rest of world made gear? I don't know if someone like inMusic could start production in each territory to avoid tariffs? Probably not.

-- also, speaking with some knowledge of music instrument and gear makers, it impacts non-US makers, too. It's likely to cause supply chain and distribution instability (much as COVID did, but self-inflicted), and it hurts what is for basically *every* manufacturer the single biggest market.

Well, you're *almost* right - because US-manufactured gear cannot possibly have its entire supply chain and materials inside the USA, it also makes US gear more costly. The US had used a strong dollar and strategic trade deficits to build a world-beating economy. You know, until last week.
