@schof well previously I thought that if you pressed `Ctrl-D` it would always return an EOF to the `read()` which would usually cause the program to exit ~automatically (because that's how it works in cooked mode and I hadn't spent enough time thinking about how raw mode works / didn't […]

@b0rk ahh right. also i just realized i don't know what ctrl d does at a non empty line in cooked mode so i tried with cat and got an interesting surprise
