My partner is a college professor. I've had plenty of chances to observe the internal politics of university administrators and tenured faculty. And the idea that there is any sort of widespread leftist thinking is hysterical. These people are mostly just conservatives who like having a union.

Has anyone told them they do try to hire more conservative instructors but they don't last long because they find better paying jobs in finance or think tanks. Or they get inappropriate with students and resign. Or both.
