Document everything. If anything smells off, get it in writing. And it’s never a bad idea to check in with your own lawyer.
Your employer’s lawyers don’t represent you. They represent the company. If the company’s interests happen to align with your interests, that’s a happy accident.

Lawyers work for the party that signs their checks.
