They are a type of terrier - all white or mostly white, and will stop at nothing to get at critters smaller than them. They're working dogs. They make great family pets, but that's not their purpose. They're ferocious and hardy little hunters.

Because of this, many terriers were used to breed this type of dog. What these results are showing are that Willy and Pickle both descend from fell terriers. Fell terriers aren't a breed either. They're just terriers that all came from the same region.

Jagdterriers and patterdales were also bred from fell terriers. That is why the jack russell matches those two "breeds". Patterdales aren't a breed either. They're also a type of terrier. And neither jagdterriers or patterdales are pets. They're purely working dogs.

All of this to say, that kennel clubs ruin dogs with their stupid breed rules, and DNA tests are fun, but can't be considered accurate for the reasons I just mentioned. Jacks have too much genetic diversity to fit within the confines of a breed standard. Genetic diversity is a good thing.
