That's my dad on the right. A few years back I was living on that airstrip in a big RV. He jumped that strip so many times for so many years, I felt his spirit there. He's been gone since 92. I think you 2 would've gotten along with lots to talk about.
Bro that's fucking incredible, my father was a pioneer in the sport. He got out of the 101st in 59 and hooked up with a few people in Elsinore CA who were turning it into a sport and after a year out there he returned to NY and started L.I. Skydivers, now Skydive L.I. This blows my mind.
You know I had this feeling when I posted that reply that you'd have a connection with Elsinore, just for a second I thought that. Wow. There's a rhyme and reason for everything brother.
That was the reserve chute I think and yeah neither did he. He had a Delta Wing he really loved, almost like a hang glider he could really carve with it. Freefall was his thing his friend had a P-51 he would fly in air shows and he'd take my dad up to like 30,000 ft for maximum freefall time.
