LA already has a backlog of Vision Zero projects due to existing staffing shortages.
As LADOT's GM Laura Rubio-Cornejo said yesterday: "At reduced staffing levels as proposed within the budget, if we were directed to only focus on games delivery that is likely the only thing we would be able to do"
Councilmember Bob Blumenfield openly worried about safety projects in CD3 that were being deleted from the budget as Olympics improvements are being prioritized per these directions to departments.
