The real frustrating thing was there were like 4 or 5 things like this where the Kings were about to get a new possession only to make a silly mistake and give the Nuggets back the ball. This happened twice on what would have been an easy transition bucket (like the Lyles out of bounds one here)

Nuggets played an interesting defense where they doubled Lavine immediately on a Sabonis DHO. Lavine really struggled to take advatage of that, but if other teams try this smart cuts and off ball movement could lead to easy buckets like this one. But most of the game this defense worked very well.

I like Zach Lavine a lot but he had 2 huge issues yesterday

- Despite his passes being good, he is usually very late at making the pass if he makes it at all. Just not great court awareness makes him a mediocre playmaker despite having the skills

- Worst defensive screen navigator I've ever seen

I think he thinks too much. You can tell he’s constantly making mental adjustments with ball feints and jab steps, but he does it in every aspect of his play. It’s almost like he doesn’t trust his instinct.

I agree. This is where my hope is that repetitions and scheme can help him next year under a new coach. He's never been a great playmaker tho but I dont remember him being this indecisive

Yeah I noticed this as well I’m surprised Doug didn’t make an adjustment to get the rotation guy the ball when he was wide open.

Although if it was Keegan Murray or Malik Monk instead of Isaac Jones (no offense to him) on that corner maybe the hedge doesn’t come out as hard.
