Multiple things can be true, I’m definitely bummed to see so many options that would have made the Braves better go to other teams, especially LAD and Mets. But, Alex was never making those deals (except maybe Conforto) and that is why we have the core locked up for as long as we do.

Those who criticize the Olson trade conveniently forget this franchise was frighteningly close to either Anthony Rizzo or (looks at early March 2022 depth chart) Adam Duvall at first base.

There was no basis to criticize that deal in the first place. If you were going to lose Freeman, they "had" to get Olson.

I don't think the process was wrong on the Murphy trade either. It just hasn't worked out like we were hoping it would so far.
