So yes, this is a redraw! Every 3 years or so, I redraw one of the first digital images I ever made starting from 2011. I also redid the pic in 2014, 2017, and 2020 mainly as a means to see how much ive improved since. Its surreal to see them all again after all these years, especially 2020's

In the past, I've redrawn the image with a predetermined palette and using the previous iteration as reference, but this time around I just guesstimated the palette and recreated it from my mind. I think I'll keep doing that going forward because it's interesting to feel how my workflow has changed.

I now have a direct 10 year comparison between pieces now! And numbers say I can keep doing decade retrospectives if I keep with the 3 year cycle, since the next one is in 2027.

I'm honestly a huge fan of Owl City so I screamed when I saw the lyrics.

And with the stars, the wintry vibe, and the flowing scarf in contrast with the urban setting, it looks like a "mundane turned magical" scene, especially with the gold-sepia colors haha!
