Always worth bugging the mayor. The one HERE has been getting bike lanes added over the past decade. Supposedly going to remove a lane from Sixth and turn that space into bike/walkways starting next year, which makes sense 'cos that's the road he walks to work on :D

Speaking only for myself, I find that I slow down over time, if I drive the same route. Each time I hit that stretch of road, if I know the sign is coming up, I try harder to hit my mark. But first time through? Yeah, no visible change. 10th time through, definitely slower.

Some of them also issue tickets. There's one intersection where they installed a camera and set it JUST to flash everyone speeding for the first weekend-- the aura of terror was sufficient to slow that entire mile of road by a much needed 5-10mph.
