i struggle to imagine getting one of my games localized. i don't know if i could put my name on work i couldn't personally verify the quality of? "here's a thing i made, i don't really know what it says"

But what if you could trust the translator? What if the translator talked to you about the intricacies of the puns in certain sections of the game, and how the translator could translate them to another language?

I feel like I would be so particular about making sure word choice was maintained. But I only know one language so it's not like I can, say, say "these characters all introduce themselves like X" would be a reasonable request to have maintained if it doesn't work in another language.
oh god I completely forgot about dialects, and that's already gotta be a task for my favourite anime things when it comes to Okinawan and Kansai dialects...
