I'm legitimately excited about the opportunity to discuss dynasty theory with folks on this new platform. It's an opportunity to break out of the traditional norms. In that vein, what do you do differently than your league-mates that has led to sustained success?

I think what's leading to deals is me 1) sending lots of offers and 2) being willing to get a return that's a little less than "market"
Dalvin Cook in 2021 (got 1.5 years out of him)
Alvin Kamara in 2022 (3 years ongoing)
Deebo Samuel in 2023
DK Metcalf in 2023
Also with DK, i like to target players people are bored by. People always think DK is older/figured out
Sticking to talent evaluations and avoiding guys that are only valued for projectable volume and ignoring situation as much as possible.
Garrett Wilson early this year as everyone was souring on him.
Drake London throughout last season
This has been a very tough season 😭😭
Helps me keep a looser grip on my bench assets and be more willing to make big moves and has gotten my bench to a level that could be competitive by itself.
It's kept me at the top consistently, not to mention it's the best part of fantasy 😅
Adopted my first 3 dynasty teams this year.
- killed the first team (ugh)
- killing the league on the second team (yeah)
- much better rebuild on the third team
All I knew was I had 1.02 (only) and a very old roster.
Lesson 1 -
I sold off all of the olds for young players and draft picks in the offseason.
Not as much value as if I had been patient.
Thielen for a 4th ✅
👑 Henry for Rhamondre 🥵
Don’t get talent just to get talent.
At the time, my literal favorite trade was:
4.05 for Daniel Bellinger & 4.11. (Two for one!!!)
Well, Bellinger sucks.
I missed drafting Bucky Irving at 4.05.
Maybe Jordan Travis will be something, but who knows.
(Zero for 1 🥵🥵🥵).
Practice patience in a rebuild.
Team was QB needy (SF with only Levis as starting QB).
With 1.02, Caleb gone.
Could have drafted Daniels.
But I drafted MHJ and immediately traded him for Tua Njoku and a pick swap.
Like I was going to contend.
Better path 1 -
Prioritize getting better draft picks, not just more draft picks.
I’ve accumulated:
1 1st (late)
4 2nd (mixed)
2 3rd (early)
1 4th
lettings things play out and exploiting market inefficiency as it pops up is like half the battle.
So this time I'm probably cashing in on Nico Collins and doing something similar.
I’ve scored the most total points in both my leagues. Give it a try, might work for others!
