Finally got to see NOSFERATU, loved it, thought it was pretty much perfect. I just love seeing that story, and i thought every change was a smart or interesting one. Every addition to the story managed to be extra gothic, horny or grotesque, most often all three at once.

there's nothing to "pierce" or "see through" - you could know exactly what you're up against, and be just as feeble before it.
Eggers is probably referencing something specific there, but the general motif is so perfect for this film. The man never misses.
He was the perfect balance of both menacing, scary and hear me out on this, sexy. Like how could you say no to voice and a moustache like that?
Several scenes from the trailer reminded me of old thriller and horror movies and how everything was showing. Thank you for sharing this, I found it quite helpful. I'm probably going to see it, on cinemas if it's still available with my s.o.
I didn't regard it as any kind of slight against Romani people.
The Goths and horny weirdos are eating good!
And that light just giving me such a horrible pit in my stomach rather than being a relief
The scene where Thomas admits that Orlok preyed upon him too, deliberately coded like he's admitting he's been assaulted. The film's subtext of sexual abuse and how it's ignored is so good.
I get that.
All of this, yes, definitely.
Stoker's estate sued and won, and all the copies of the 1922 "Nosferatu" were supposed to be destroyed.

I am Eman, unfortunately my main and backup accounts were deleted at the same minute 3 days ago and I tried to create other accounts but they were deleted immediately, I am very upset and frustrated😔💔
I couldn't point out anything that I really hated, but I couldn't really point out anything I amazingly loved about it either.
Good, possibly even great! Just not amazing.
Like a solid 7.5 outa 10.
That's a really interesting insight. I can understand that.
I feel like the intentionally over the top performances were to catch the old-timey cinema feel, but I think you're right that it possibly did clash with the utterly incredible sets.
eggers knocked it outta the park, i really admire the cinematography choices in particular. really really great use of lighting
