21st February 1945: first flight of the Hawker Sea Fury. Fast, heavily armed and robust, the aircraft was initially manufactured as a fighter, but most made were FB.11 fighter-bombers. Sea Furies saw extensive FAA and RAN use in the Korean War and were exported to several other countries.
