Violence is harm to any living thing by another living thing. Breaking a window that a business owner's insurance will pay for is nonviolent. It is also not peaceful.
Peace can be violence. When a child goes to sleep cold and starving because their family is being starved, they still sleep.

Nonviolence can also be peaceful. Seedbombs and guerrilla gardening, when done in right relation with the earth, is both peaceful and nonviolent. Bringing someone dinner. Painting. Supporting each other.
So the question is, why is "peace" being used so much during a time of extreme global violence?

we should be very specific when we describe actions. Was it peaceful? Or was it nonviolent? Nonviolence can be very disruptive to peace. That's what protest is for, to make people uncomfortable enough to start looking around them and asking why.

These protests with bodies blocking streets, trash cans being used as distractions, occupations in buildings, these are nonviolent disruptions. Even if something gets broken, even if it scares people, if harm is not being done or materially threatened to actual people, that is not violent.

“peace” will be used to sell you a moderate blue fascism instead of losing your job for speaking out for Palestine. “peace” is used to divide and conquer protesters, separating the ones who still feel protected within the system, from the ones who know we never were. don’t let them abuse “peace”.
