this idea helped me a lot. i waited until things "got better" for a number of years. all it did was make me wish i hadn't waited. when i finally did it, part of my reason was "fuck it, there's never going to BE a good time."

seen a sentiment from a few people now expressing or implying a desire to transition but feeling unable due to the current political climate. while fear of the future is completely reasonable, waiting for a "good time to transition" will waste your life. it will never not feel scary at first

i think a big part of that would be that many of us just understand the dangers at this point. like, i didn't talk about the danger here because i live it. i assume others know, too. and for me, it was, "this is terrifying. i have to do it."
maybe others relate. hard to be sure
the fallout from that moment revived me.
the real, genuine me.

so, for me in a very real sense, who i was is long gone.
still me tho.
