I switched from NetNewsWire to the new Reeder recently and it’s been more pleasant than I expected. It’s really helped with my need to clear notifications/unread posts.
I do wish there was a solution for paid content that only allows you to log in via email confirmation though. That’s still a pain.
I bought Feedly's lifetime subscription when they first launched the service; They only sold 1000 of them, and I think to this day regret it, because they keep trying to jam additional paid-for "premium" services my way. I still keep finding ways to turn off those notifications.
They only offered it for the first two days after launching Feedly Pro. As mentioned, I think they have regretted it ever since because of the targeted "buy this premium service" popups etc I get from time to time.
Both have pros/cons ... I am in the middle of Setting up FreshRSS in Docker again and having old Reeder sync to that as I was finding that the iCloud sync was not working too great.
News Explorer. Much better for me than Reeder. I do add there even newsletters, telegram channels, YouTube channels. It works even on Apple TV. The app is very customizable.
The Classic #Reeder. But as name shows and I dislike the current/new Reeder, I‘m about to evaluate https://betamagic.nl/products/newsexplorer.html which is actively developed and reads promising! #rss

It’s been working well as a “backend” for Reeder Classic.
