I just can't take the mental health hit from too much politics. What's going on now effects me deeply and seriously, but it's a real mental drain to engage with politics for me these days.

Disengaging yourself from things that can damage you is always valid but at the end of the day, it's YOUR responsibility.
I will encourage people to mute/unfollow/block me if that's what they need for their peace.
But I am not going to stop voicing my opinions for important issues.

I feel this. It can be emotionally violent. It can also be validating to hear people respond to the outrageous with outrage, because it tells me that I'm not alone and that people do care. More than anything else, it is indifference that hurts the most.

I will say that there are times that I will actively troll and mess with bigots and any discriminatory jerks on any topic. It can be a fun hobby lol! Doing this kind of thing in public forums has allowed me to meet a bunch of cool ppl who reached out because of shit talking I did, and I love that.
