This evaporation is happening all over the globe. Greenland glaciers are melting so quickly they'll stop the "pump" circulating water on a conveyer fm North Atlantic southward, & back. There's a patch of plastic in the Pacific the size of Texas.

Earth will survive, but will take centuries to heal.
