I remember the National Guard troops called out during Seattle WTO 1999. Many were very young, scared because they weren’t city kids, and highly armed.

If you are an active member of the national guard or the US military and are ordered to violate the constitutional rights of anyone on US soil, call the GI Rights Hotline. You swore an oath to support and defend the US constitution and do not have to follow unlawful orders.

In 1954, the US Supreme Court ruled that the federal government was bound by the 14th amendment of the Constitution to provide due process and equal protection under the law to everyone in its jurisdiction.

This includes non-citizens on US soil.
