I'm so bad with eye contact, I feel like I make way too much, I'll be in a group situation where one person is talking and I I notice them make eye contact with me so I just hold it and then I don't know when to look away
Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I went to a one-man show at the Edinburgh Fringe last summer and the performer just locked eyes with me so I couldn't look away, but I didn't know if I was going nuts or he really was staring at me the whole time.
When the show ended the 2 friends I was with commented on it, so I apparently wasn't imagining it, but I also felt compelled to maintain eye contact the whole time. You can imagine how extra awkward that is when he also got nude on stage

"You mean we have to talk about other stuff before we can talk about what we want to talk about?"
I have no TMI filter either, it just doesn't kick in until I know someone better - first time small talk gets me every time.
Him: What do you do?
Me: Well, my father died and I’m writing a show about it.
*He leaves*
Me:… oh…
