So we have to hoop jump (which for people like me, it WILL irreparably harm our health) just so the Alberta government can take away the paltry amount the federal government deigned to allocate for those who qualify. And no one is talking about it except disabled people.

I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to have to give up in order to be able to do this (I have severe ME, I can’t just do more without something else having to give) and I can’t stop crying.

Seriously what do I give up? Cooking? Bathing? Laundry? The last of my few connections to humanity?

Fuck. I’m in your neighbour province BC and I knew they were planning to claw it back but not that they were forcing everyone to apply… and yeah, SO hard to be stuck in our beds trying to make people aware of these atrocities!!! The only election issue is the economy and tariffs…

My province forced me to apply for CPPD just so they could claw it back. And yes, it did cause irreparable damage to my health. I wish non disabled folk truly understood the humanitarian crisis going on with disabled Canadians!!

There is a BC advocacy group called Disability Alliance BC. They have an excellent online tool for completing the DTC application. You plug in your health info and it spits out a document for your doctor. Doc can either just sign it and use it as is, or use it as a guide. Tool available to anyone.
