As an American, I cannot fully understand the TAA saga. Of course I want him to stay at Liverpool but it’s not like he’s going to Everton or ManUtd. Maybe it’s the lack of homegrown academics in the US? Maybe it’s the large diversity of sports in one city? - ThreadSky

Ripken and Jeter are the only two names that come to mind. Joe Montana played for the chiefs, Harper went to the Phillies, Soto is going everywhere, Saquan to the Eagles. Again, I want Trent to stay but if he’s moving to a different league why so much hate. I’ll be disappointed for sure - no hate.

RM will pay more esp with no transfer fee and has the ambition to keep buying the best players to stay on top. Can understand the attraction but he will never have the support he gets at Anfield and he will always be watching over his shoulder - the Madrid crowd is not so forgiving of mistakes

Honestly don’t think he would go anywhere else. His best mate is Jude Bellingham and he plays there. Clearly been nudging him for a while for a while and is possibly making the difference. Gerrard almost went to Chelsea but no emotional pull. Seems Bellingham is providing that for Madrid

I remember the Spring and Summer of 05 very well! Istanbul and Gerrard saga. I would have been mad because I would want to see Gerrard in Chel$ki blue. But another league like Spain seems different to me. Appreciate your comments! Is la Liga viewed as different because they still play in UCL?
