How is everyone connecting? I don't crave followers but it's still disconcerting to see people on here for a day with 67,000 followers while I can't find any of my former Twitter people. I feel like I am missing something. 😟

starter packs and lists - the more you follow the more followers will hit you back!! also BLOCK TROLLS, don't engage - see pinned post and its replies on my profile 😀
Using the big account Starter Packs got me a few extra followers, but I know what you mean. It took me years to get 5k on Twitter and I still rarely got any engagement.
While I still had my Twitter account I searched back & forth for some of my favs. Found most of them here.
I think there's an app that let people 'bridge' their followers from the bad place to here. I didn't use it - left behind 10k followers and deactivated my account. Some of the big 'resister' accounts post Starter Packs, which I used to reconnect with ones I previously followed.
I was amazed at how quickly I reconnected with those I followed in the bad place. TBD starter packs helped a lot. But I also changed focus here too. I'm trying to post photography and travel stuff.
I've reconnected with some. Not everyone, but that's ok. I'm trying to focus more on gardening and art in this new environment. Less on politics. It's a good thing, for now.
Some of the larger accounts created lists of like-minded accounts. If you click on the "Starter Pack" in their bio (or their posts) you can automatically follow everyone on their list.
I’ve been here a week and have a whole 40 followers lol. I’m trying to engage / follow back, but it’s a little slow and lonely for sure over on my profile too. Hopefully in time I’ll find my community here.

It's worse here; as average people started anew they figured they'll just become social media stars like George Takei or Brian Tyler Cohen.
