Alex Bregman reportedly had a six-year, $156 million offer on the table from the Astros this offseason and has had at least three five-year offers. Multiple sources suggest the Red Sox have been reluctant to go to those lengths, despite an obvious fit. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/01/25/sports/red-sox-alex-bregman-free-agent-contract/

Bet he does not play 140 games this year.
Why can't they just get this done already?! Looks like they just have to take on money & maybe give up, what? some ticket from below A? & time to move Devers already. It is OK if Yoshida is gone or starts on DL & then is gone.
I think Arenado would make more sense for the team, simply because we would have to trade for him, and it would free up slots on the Sox roster.
- Devers DH
- Casas traded
- Yoshida in left, OR
- Campbell blocked at 2nd
🤷🏻♂️
If you move Devers to DH, you move Yoshida not Casas.
If ownership needs to tickle the pickle of uneducated fans to get back in their good graces, do it next year on Kyle Tucker or Vlad Guerrero.
Not on the declining Bregman who makes no sense for the team.
I was saying that if you’re trading someone you eat Yoshida’s contract and trade him for pennies, you don’t trade Casas.
Even more reason Bregman doesn’t fit.
Bregman is a third baseman. So is the Red Sox' highest paid player, and they promised he could stay at third base for several more years.
So, Bregman at 2B? The Sox have three of those, all good, all young, ready to seize the job. All much much cheaper.
There is no fit.
