1. The person with the prop gun at FWA on Sun was damn lucky he didn’t trigger a police response w/ their action. It would have been bad enough had the police descended on the convention…would have been worse if a police officer saw them & deemed them a threat to the public & tried to neutralize it

2. They were probably just as lucky they didn’t set off some other gun toting person at the con…looking to be a hero…who didn’t have the training that a police officer has.

3. The convention itself was damn lucky this person’s action didn’t set off a mass panic event that injured attendees.

About a year ago, MFF did a table top exercise with leadership that involved a mass shooting at the convention. Seeing these pictures, frankly, makes me sick.

FWA needs to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.

I’m absolutely amazed that was allowed, even if through inaction. Absolutely not something I would want to see at any convention I’m at, and that’s coming from an avid gun owner. Given today’s world, that did not belong at all.

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that it happened quickly and there wasn’t time for them to respond. But the silence at this point is what is troubling.

I’m seeing many say it was peace bonded, which I think bears some responsibility and changes to what’s allowed in the future. But that cosplayer should not have removed the orange tip. Even if they couldn’t shut it down in time, there were errors that allowed it to get to that point.

Point 3 is the thing I kept thinking every time I saw it.

Especially in a state that has a history of rather nasty rhetoric towards LGBTQ+ populations.
