Never been a plotter. But writing a series changed that.
I outline each chapter—no fluff, just beats. When I’m sick, foggy, or drained—it realigns my focus.
Also keep a separate doc for all characters, even the minor ones. Lifesaver.
Structure doesn’t kill creativity. It protects it.

I stick with Word. Each chapter gets its own outline. Keeps things simple. One doc for the whole book gets long and overwhelming fast. So when I’m working on ch 5 I open up the ch 5 outline for reference.
'And then he goes there'.... 'don't forget to mention the dragon' etc...

I often worry that I'm overthinking my plot instead of actually writing the scenes, but since I want to write a whole series, I will need this kind of scaffolding.
Better to catch the plot holes now than to try and patch them up afterwards.
