I don’t watch it but I caught an interview with Clay Aiken and something he observed was that the Voice is more about the judges than the talent. That would explain it

Yes, and it’s also one of those shows where it’s usually better not to win than it is to get locked in that contract. A few people have had good careers but aren’t household names except for like maybe Morgan Wallen.
Yeah, that makes sense, especially when every artist needs to hustle on social anyhow. Better to not be hampered by nor have to split your earning with the contract
