It is a commodity. Art that relies on govt funding is rarely great art. The centre right, that used to be called ‘one nation Torys’ in England, was happy to fund art initiatives, galleries & museums. Their remnants are on the boards of them, still.

As for "art that relies on govt funding.." - that's the BBC out. School programmes, extracurriculars gone. Independent art spaces, exhibitions, social programmes, music venues, third spaces reliant on trusts, funds, charities and other schemes. I find it hard to believe none of this concerns you.

Some good info. But we need more preventive measures. In a time when people are seeking direction and true leadership, opportunists will flock. And voices with the strongest backers carry the furthest distances. We need more advice on how to sniff these grifters out and unite under authenticity.

I do think someone, with authority, should challenge these grifters so those following them can really see who they are. It struck me that every day they change what the ‘crisis’ is & focus on the monkeys. That just saps people’s wills, misdirects & disorientates them.

Interesting. But seriously, I don’t need an influencer to make me feel or see things that are in front of me. Musk in the White House for instance, economy crashing, shady Supreme Court, rights being erased - all alarming enough to me without anyone trying to sway me one way or another.
