London, Manchester, Birmingham & Brighton Prides [the biggest marches] have banned political parties. This is because of systemic anti-trans bigotry within the political elite. Politicos are unhappy at losing their ‘photo-ops’ but can still join in, in a private capacity. Actions have consequences.

[2] In a just & fair world, the kind politicians pretend to want, then the relentless persecution & criminalisation of trans people would be the most important issue facing Westminster. The creation of a class of people with fewer rights than the majority by all parties is v 1933 Germany.

[3] One of the things that UK politicians like to blather on about is WWII & how Britain ‘fought alone’ to destroy the Nazi menace & that we must always remember that & the horrors of the Holocaust. The problem is, they don’t believe that.

[4] Britain never fought alone, it had the world’s largest Empire, one upon which ‘the sun never set’. One in which British law was forced on indigenous populations including the criminalisation of homosexuality. That law caused & causes enormous grief across nearly every continent.

[5] Do they remember the Holocaust? I don’t think so & I’m a historian with an interest in the period. The Holocaust saw the industrial scale murder of Jews, People with Disabilities, Roma & LGBTQ ppl. I have never heard one mention all the groups.

[6] Nor have I heard one acknowledge & apologise for what the UK & US did to the LGBTQ ppl who were ‘liberated’ from the Concentration Camps. In fact the Allies put these poor souls into prison to serve out their spurious sentences for being Queer. Their Holocaust lasted longest.

[7] So when it comes to learning about the Holocaust & #NeverAgain the British political establishment chooses who it deems as victims & who it decides are not. This can be seen in the long series of ziganophobic laws by both main parties. Roma & Travellers being their favoured hatreds.
