FWIW I was in Court to hear Bob Jones' pitiful testimony in cross-examination on defamation case. I didn't laugh at his jokes.

Having worked with both Fran Wilde and Kerry Prendergast, I'm disappointed they're in this group, but perhaps that's a ray of hope that they will tone down the others' worst instincts. I know at least one of Wilde's adopted kids is Māori, so I very much doubt she would be putting them down.

There's systemic racism and there's casual racism. Fran may not be individually racist but would she seek to change unfair systems? Both women are more personally inclusive than Bob but I see nothing in #VisionForWellington that speaks to collaboration with diverse groups or listening to Māori

While her kids had many of the advantages that go with Wilde's success and wealth, I'm sure they will have also faced plenty of individual and systemic racism, so I would like to think she fights for a fairer system. But maybe she's been doing corporate gigs so long, she's lost touch. 🤷

That was the impression I got dealing with her on the Wellington Regional Council over bus changes. Fran had done great work over Homosexual Law Reform. I respected her then but she seemed to stop listening once she left the close to the people role as #Wellington MP. So much corporate capture.
