Late #QOTD: How do you “rate” books out of 5 stars??
Me? It’s all about vibes:
5/5 ⭐️ = strong emotional response
4/5 ⭐️ = strong writing, characters, story, but no emotional connection
3/5 ⭐️ = lacking in the above, but entertaining
2/5 ⭐️ = likely DNF
1/5 ⭐️ = loathsome/bigoted material

Comments
4 = good, I liked it. I have a few critiques (writing style, grammar errors, plot inconsistencies, boring bits).
3 = didn’t love it. Poorly written, uninteresting, wrong or dangerous
2+1 =I don’t do this to authors.
Most books are in the 3.5-4.5 range.
I DNF religiously, so I rarely have very low ratings. I don’t like to rate things I didn’t read in it’s entirety.

2. Rather not experience but okay to exist.
