Alas, the company itself fires anyone who dares question Musk or suggest that the company distances himself from him. So much so that they illegally fired workers who petitioned to this end.

If they don’t make the separation, we shouldn’t either. SpaceX is Musk, Musk is SpaceX.

Yes and whatever organization will always have all kinds of people. This is a very poor defense since if you apply that logic to say, the Khmer Rouge, it instantly falls apart.

I.e. just because people there working are good people and do good work does not mean the company isn’t tied to Musk.

Agreed, I never said or implied it isn't tied to Musk at all either. My point was to illustrate that many people within SpaceX contribute to their success and are worth being aknowledged, regardless of Musk's position and influences.

There are a lot of direct and indirect benefits we see from spaceflight. Some of the direct ones included advanced medical research, and studying things such as our planets weather to better prepare and protect against severe storms.

In the more ambitious missions that send probes to far out places, such as Europa Clipper, these benefits are more indirect, and help us understand more about the universe and how any of our reality works. There is always more to learn, and thats what this is about.

Agreed, it would be great to divert some of the SpaceX hype into more support for and awareness of the awesome hardware being developed by the likes of Rocket Lab, Firefly, Relativity, etc.
