This fundamentally misunderstands modern concert-going and listening habits. I wonder whether it even occurred to the author that set lists rarely change and they are easy to find.

I have been going to a lot more shows of late of bands I merely kinda like. For them, I've been checking the setlists of recent shows expressly to see if they're likely to play the 2 songs I actually know well and decide based on that.
This is also helpful for bands with a deep back catalog. My wife will loves TOOL, but bases her decision to buy tickets to see them almost entirely on which version of the band shows up.
Yes, I am aware, though I also think many artists are intentionally bucking this, for good and interesting reasons. And, of course, not all concert-goers are checking https://setlist.fm or whatever, so for them it's moot.
