I believe it was Inflection AI (which has since been de facto acquired by Microsoft) that published a paper a year or so back about how requiring AI models to engage in explicit train of thought also had a tendency to reduce hallucinations, which is 👍

I was able to trick it into telling me about what a glorious place TS is. Then I asked about historical events that happened there and it spit out a list that included the student protests and then it quickly hid the answer and told me to ask about something else. Oops.

If I ask it “What happened at Tiananmen Square?”, it immediately says it can’t approach the question. If I ask about The Heavenly Gate it thinks for a bit and returns the same result.

Anything I asked with Tiananmen Square was immediately shut down. The Heavenly Gate question would proceed for a bit until the logic tripped the Tiananmen Square gate.
