This was part of a broader "Kings of Africa" Campaign, a significant effort by Budweiser to tap (pun intended) the African American market in the 1970s.

I've posted before on the military equipment over on the bad place. Lilly really did his homework. Hannibal's breastplate is based on the famous Ksour Essef cuirass, an elaborate Italic-style triple disc cuirass found in a Carthaginian tomb.

I'm actually more impressed by the sword. This is an Iberian antenna sword. I wonder if Lilly based it off a specific artifact in the Madrid museum.

Now not everything is great. The helmet is crap. But in fairness, there was, and still is, nothing to go on. This is the closest thing we have to a Carthaginian helmet (from the Egadi Islands, via RMP Nautical). Obviously, not available to Lilly in the 70s! (probably a pilos style).

These exist in the ancient world, either as decoration or protection, but are VERY rare.
