A reversals success depends a lot of when you have it done. According to BUPA in the UK, it's 75% if the reversal is within 3 years of the original vasectomy, 50–55% for 3 to 8 years, 40–45% if it’s been 9 to 14 years, 30% if it’s been 15 to 19 years and less than 10% if it was more than 20 years
Most doctors and GPs would tell you it's a permanent solution. And correct me if I am wrong, reversals are not on the NHS, so it can get very expensive
Vasectomy on the NHS is a bit of a postcode lottery, so that doesn't surprise me. I think that's why the numbers I found come from BUPA. But yes, I was told to consider it permanent.
I can't say I agree with it either. In the last episode I said it feels a bit disingenuous to flatly state it is without talking about the caveats. Obviously there are successful reversals and I know people who have had the, but with varying degrees of success.
