I've always followed people who's content i want to see and browsed the Following feed, because that's what you did back when i got the internet circa 2010. It's just kind of the way i've always done it.
It took me a long time to realize that people browse For You, and it's so obviously worse!

Of course platforms want us to browse For You because the algorithm is the part of the platform that gives them control.
They don't control Following and reposts, so those are the spaces where we as humans actually get to shape our experience. No wonder they feel better!

I also download .mp3 and store them locally because that's just kidna what you did in 2010 and i never stopped. I don't get how people put up with Spotify.

I sat down and got to watch the whole thing in one go. Thank you for recommending it, Filth. It was a really great watch and I loved the discussion around nuance and thinking about the media we consume. The small segment about additional tools to customize and curate feeds was especially good.
