Dube does bowl pace. You may call it medium pace but it's pace. And Harshit is a pace bowler that's what match ref kept in mind. You can't expect them to sit with pace reading of players, or stats of how many overs he bowled to allow a concussion sub.

I know Dube bowls pace. The point is he bowls once every 4 to
5 matches. He sis not used regularly as a bowler in international cricket. Whichever way one spins it that was not a like for like substitute.

Again are we expecting refs to be that specific? Even Ramandeep's record as such is better than Dube's tbf. Also rules I feel were drafted keeping in mind that a team won't be carrying like 11 exact replacements of the starting XI. So this was the workaround they came up with.

If you read Monga’s report, you will see they ARE that specific. In this case Gambhir got away with it clearly.

In Chahals case too, a specialist leggie replaced a spin bowling AR who had already contributed with a match a crucial knock. If we are arguing could Chahal had scored those runs which were crucial there? I am pretty certain no.
