My one big ask for our new kitchen was to be able to run the kettle and microwave at the same time. Because damn... impossible to remember.

The age of a house, has no bearing on what kind of electrical system it can accommodate. Our house was grossly under powered when we bought it, but upgraded it to a 220 watt power board. Now everything works great. Not cheap, but worth it in the end.

Well, actually (lol), it does. The old part of the house has few outlets. There are 3 in my kitchen, not incl the dedicated outlet for the stove. There was a new panel put in before I moved in and the genius who did it put the stove, the microwave and the breakfast bar outlets on the same breaker.

There are only 2 usable outlets in the dining room.

3 in the living room. 1 in my office. 2 in each bedroom.

The walls are plaster and lathe. If I owned it, I'd tear them out and start over. But I don't so I don't use the toaster oven and microwave at the same time. 😁

that nine wire you have in the walls and bare wires in the attic are all fire hazards time to rewire instead of getting new pennies for the fuses

No attic. And I stopped using pennies in 1946.
