#DnD 5e Dungeon Masters, how do you deal with distant travels/adventuring? I've seen it done a few ways from rolling from a table to determine encounters, to just skipping it altogether.

I like @alexandrian.bsky.social's method. You have periods of time called watches. Characters have actions they can take such as scouting, foraging, mapmaking, etc. Distance traveled is determined by pace and terrain.
