When u apply for disability benefits, they look into your entire life, health, and finances. It's like if undergoing an intensive tax audit also had a medical component. It is exhausting, and traumatizing, and the idea that anyone would put themselves thru all that to "game the system" is ridiculous

Selfish people who identify as "taxpayers" and who constantly whine about the gummint stealing from them to give "handouts" to the poor are MY LEAST FAVOURITE PEOPLE
And in this country it must be terrible just managing to get those benefits at all. When you call Social Security, a recorded message before the menu includes the statement "the waiting list for disability eligibility is currently 240 days." 240 days!
The Canadian govt does have a federal disability tax credit, which...
None of this should be THAT hard!
Why do they need to know my hobbies? tf
my disability doesn't disappear just because I have an ounce of joy in my life
As it is i have to file monthly income reports since i do have a bit of art sales & crowd funding donations trickling in.
Because i'm DONE selling my labour to capitalism
They don't want you to make a liveable amount of money!
When in reality, *millions* are one bad expensive crisis away from the street
(i'm in BC, Canada, & it might just be luck of the draw who i got to work on this in my small town. Disability benefits here are provincial, not federal).
