I've been writing stories since I was a kid and went to college for it.
I think I've always felt full of alter egos that could do the things I wasn't able to for one reason or another and creating characters helps me let them live.

I've loved writing ever since I first learned how! I especially love writing historical fiction because it allows me to celebrate our shared humanity throughout history, and to draw connections between the past and present. #MomsWritersClub

I started because I had stories I wanted to tell. I think I continue now because I feel like I have stories that need to be heard. Things I wish people had said to me in hard times. Ways I hope my words will help others feel seen and known and have hope.

It’s an unrelenting need.

It’s the hyperfixation hobby that stuck.

Oddly enough the thing that keeps me from writing constantly is task initiation and impaired processing.

I’m always mentally writing but my ADHD keeps a lot of it from becoming something.

I’d never run into this before, and then I had an idea a few months ago so fully formed in my brain, I didn’t even write it down because “what’s the point? I already lived it in my head!”

I think it’s always just been a part of who I am. My mom and my grandmother were literature teachers so they really encouraged my writing for as long as I can remember. It’s my way of reflecting on things and working things out—of trying to understand people and the world.

I felt awkward sharing my stories, so I didn't even verbalize them. Once I started writing, it still took me a while before I shared them with critique partners. Now, I'm confident in my writing abilities, so I'm comfortable sharing my work.
