Same. I am 2 yrs from being able to retire. I’m sure the benefits I worked for and was promised will be gutted. And as a career teacher, there never was enough to put away for anything other than a small supplement to my expected benefits.

Exactly. I’m single, so I’ve always had to carry the whole financial burden. I’ve been doing this for 30 years, have two advanced degrees, and just got to $83k a year. How much was I supposed to save?

I hear you. We took a 5k minimum pay cut during the 2008 crisis -Over a decade later, and teachers have never have made up that cut. Add buying school supplies & paying for our own mandatory recert classes leaves not a lot to save. However, my bigger worry is about the fascist regime in power.
