Yes, because so much else was lost with it. I miss personal shitty websites, and scattered forums. I miss Tanks on Windows 3.1 and hearing the memory check on my computer. I miss LAN parties with a dozen people where you got crappy pizza delivered and spawned in-jokes that continue to this day.

Mobile phones are probably part of the reason, alongside uh, generally good design principles to make websites intuitive and highlight only the important things - I do love this style of design though in an artistic sense, it's a raw expression of the author's personality
