obviously the rise of reform is a part of this story, but i think framing this as simply labour throwing trans people under the bus to appeal to reform does ignore the very real and constant signs coming from labour that actually a lot of senior figures have changed their minds on trans rights

Labour have thrown trans people under a bus, this time decisively.

Why? Because of Nigel Farage's Reform UK.

And this explains the triumph of transphobia in certain countries: it's a byproduct of the rise of right-wing radicalism.
